Role
Overview
The QA Manager is responsible for leading and managing QA Team Leads and QA
Engineers to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role focuses on
quality strategy, execution excellence, performance management, and continuous
improvement across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage QA Team Leads and QA Engineers
• Define and implement QA processes, standards, and best practices
• Plan and oversee manual and automation testing strategies
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Project Managers
• Ensure timely and high-quality releases across all projects
• Review test plans, test cases, defect reports, and release readiness
• Drive continuous improvement in QA efficiency and effectiveness
• Handle resource planning, workload distribution, and escalations
• Ensure compliance with quality, security, and process standards
Leadership & Management
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and feedback sessions
• Coach QA Leads on project ownership and team execution
• Identify skill gaps and plan training/upskilling
• Build a strong quality-driven culture across teams
KPIs & Performance Metrics
The QA Manager is accountable for the following KPIs:

• Defect leakage to production (%)
• Critical & high-severity defects count
• Reopened defects ratio
• Test coverage (manual + automation)
Delivery Metrics
• On-time test execution vs plan
• Release readiness success rate
• Regression cycle time
• Automation execution stability
Process & Efficiency
• Automation coverage growth (%)
• Test case reusability
• Defect detection efficiency (DDE)
• Mean time to detect (MTTD) & resolve defects (MTTR)
Team Performance
• Individual & team productivity
• Adherence to QA standards and documentation
• Skill improvement & certification progress
• Team attrition and engagement score
Required Skills &
Experience
• 7+ years in QA with 2+ years in QA leadership/management
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum
• Experience managing manual & automation teams
• Hands-on understanding of test automation frameworks
• Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills
• Experience defining and tracking QA KPIs

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Performance & security testing exposure
• SaaS / Product company experience
